Brush TechniquePower Slash

Tachigami teaches a Brush Stroke called Power Slash. He takes the form of a rat and like all Brush Gods he has white fur with red markings. He carries a giant sword in his mouth and when he is resting he sticks the sword in the ground and balances on the hilt. His constellation is found in the Cave of Nagi which is just beyond River of the Heavens. But in order to see it Ammy needs to repair part of the giant Nagi statue that is found there.

[edit] Power Slash

Powerslash works buy drawing a horizontal line on screen. Powerslash is also the most useful technique in the game as it can be used in a variety of different ways.
These include:

  • Damaging enemies.
  • Knocking people down.
  • Cutting down trees and flowers.
  • Breaking rocks and pots.
  • Ringing bells.
  • Reflecting Projectiles.

Essentially if there is a problem that needs to be solved the player should try to Powerslash it.

Powerslash can also be upgraded, there are two secret brush techniques that allow Ammy to chop through both Iron rocks and Crystal Rocks. These upgrades can be found in North Ryoshima Coast and Kamui respectively.

[edit] Okamiden

Tachigami makes a reappearance in Okamiden to teach Chibiterasu the Brush Technique, Power Slash. However he is not alone, instead he brings his three children to meet Chibiterasu. They, too, enjoy playing around on the sword and balancing on the hilt. However, The Secret Brush Technique does not return. It is learnt in The Cave of Nagi as in Okami.

[edit] Trivia

  • The word Tachi means cut.
  • The Kanji for "Chop" will appear on screen after its use.
