Oina Warrior Samickle

Samickle is a member of the Oina Tribe and the new Chief of Wep'keer. He lives in a hut near the top of Wep'keer and he wears a bird mask. He was appointed as the Chief because Kemu became too weak to rule and he has great trust in Samickle. Now Samickle must protect the village and Kemu from the Twin Demons Lechku and Nechku who want to finish Kemu off so that the Volcanic Incantation cannot be said and their plan to freeze Kamui over will not be foiled.

When Amaterasu first comes to Wep'keer he is the only Oina found outside braving the dangerous blizzard. He is found outside Kemu's hut as he is guarding it. He will not let Amaterasu or Issun into the hut as Kemu is near death after being seriously hurt by Lechku and Nechku, Samickle even had to go up to Ezofuji to rescue him. Much to his anger, Samickle will eventually let him into the hut once Kemu has summoned Amaterasu with a howl.

He comes off as rude and harsh because he essentially tells Issun to go away and get out of the village because strangers are not welcome. He is derogatory to them and believes he is better than them and the rest of the village because of his new position as chief. Issun also describes him as stubborn which is quite true. Upon entering his house Issun will also make a comment about him being an avid reader. He also introduces himself as "The greatest Oina Warrior".
He cannot see Amaterasu's Divine Markings but can however sense great power coming from her.

However despite his rudeness and negative attitude, Samickle has great belief in Oki. Oki stole the sacred sword Kutone just after Samickle was appointed as chief. Everyone else thought Oki to be a disgrace after this but Samickle trusts Oki to banish the evil from Kamui. He knows that Oki will do what's right in the end and he will eventually get Kutone to glow and fufil the prophecy.

Samickle welcomes back Oki

After Oki finally defeats Lechku and Nechku, Samickle welcomes him back into the tribe with open arms and all his selfish deeds are forgiven.
